Utilising a radiant mesh burner and custom made 1.7l pot/ heat exchanger for the ultimate in high efficiency boiling, it’s probably safe to say that there is no finer stove available on the market at the moment to tackle windy conditions, or multi-day trips when a lot of snow needs to be melted. As with all great products the Reactor definitely has it’s niche though. For single day ‘fast and light’, the extra weight of the heat exchanger/pot (only Reactor pots can be used with the Reactor stove) will outweigh the gas saved. Likewise for gourmet campsite cooking there are much more suitable (and cheaper!) stoves available. For its intended use of snow melting, water boiling and ‘packet cooking’ in demanding conditions though the Reactor is top dog in the stove world.
